I think I am also correct that steps 2-4 above are essentially happening at the same time, and not one after the other, as my numbering might suggest. I think I am correct that, when I gain 2+1 life from ]+, this does not trigger ]'s ability a second time until after ] has resolved. We both proceed to combat damage and on we go.Once ] has resolved, ]'s ability triggers again, once (because I gained 2+1 life, all in one go) and my opponent loses 1 more life.My targeted creature gets +5/+5 (because I have gained 5 life in total this turn, assuming no other life gain earlier in the turn).Assuming no opponent shenanigans, ] resolves. Again this happens regardless of opponent shenanigans as above because of the "whenever" wording on both of these cards ("whenever you cast" and "whenever you gain life" At this point the ] ability triggers (because I gained 2 life) and my opponent loses 1 more life.]'s ability means I gain an extra 1 life, for a total of +2 life. The Magecraft ability activates regardless of opponent shenanigans such as a counterspell or something that would instantly kill my ]. My opponent loses 1 life and I gain 1 life. At this point the ] Magecraft ability activates. Can someone help me understand how these cards would interact - my understanding is as follows: I cast ] once blockers have been declared, targeting a 1/1 token creature I have (which is being blocked).
